Las Violetas, Colombia - Then and Now
Wenatchee Valley Museum
Times: 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM
127 S. Mission St.
This narrated slide show by Laurie Aleona contrasts scenes from Las Violetas (Violets), a small section of Medellin, Colombia, taken in 1964 while Aleona served in the Peace Corps with scenes from her return in 1990 to a transformed Las Violetas. She will describe the work she and other volunteers did in the '60s, and the determination of her Colombian friends that resulted in many improvements. The program is part of the museum's First Tuesday Lecture Series.
