Times: 01:00 p.m. - 04:00 p.m.
94 Columbus Rd.
Create Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), miniature works of art (2.5 x 3.5 inches) that incorporate collage, painting/drawing, rubber stamping, and even 3-D effects such as origami, sewing, envelopes, and use of recycled materials. All materials and tools supplied. This workshop will have a love/Valentine's Day theme, but participants choose the materials, techniques, and direction they desire. It is a friendly, small workshop and no previous artistic experience is required, though some participants are avid scrapbookers, printmakers, or crafters. Completed ATCs may be matted, framed, or affixed to the front of blank greeting cards. By working in a small format, one can try out a variety of art/craft techniques with a limited committment of time and money. This is our third ATC workshop and we are appreciative of the support of Art of Ohio (www.artofohio.com), which provides working space for this creative time. For more information on Artist Trading Cards and the many opportunities to "swap" cards with people throughout the world, visit the instructor's blog at www.appalachianmorning.blogspot.com and the workshop's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.phpgid=53802055335. Cost: $25, which includes the cost of materials and room rental. Space limited to 12 participants. To register for this event, email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 614-309-0048. Payment may be made date of workshop. About the instructor: Janice Phelps Williams is a member of Art of Ohio and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kent State University. She has designed 200+ books for authors and publishers and is the author of 3 books, as well as founder of Lucky Press, LLC, a publishing company. An illustrator, painter, and crafter, Williams began offering workshops to provide others with the tools and encouragement to explore their creative dreams in a friendly environment with all materials provided.
